Magma Products — manufacturer of grills, cookware, tables, SUP mounts and more for the marine industry — named Alison Garcia as its new VP of sales and marketing, effective late last month. Prior to roles as merchandising VP at web-based retail apparel companies, Garcia served as category manager at West Marine for eight years. “Alison brings and excellent blend of work experience that matches our needs perfectly, we expect her to be a big asset and are very excited to have her join the Magma team,” said Magma CEO Chris de Recat in a statement.

Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corp. announced $51.1 million in dredging and coastal protection contracts for several locations in the United States. The biggest of the four is a $28.6 million marsh creation and dune restoration project in Cameron Meadows, La. In addition, the company will dredge in North Carolina, perform harbor dredging in Jacksonville, Fla. and maintenance for the New York and New Jersey harbor channels. “Great Lakes is pleased to announce these important, coastal protection and maintenance dredging awards…that support the overall improvement and resiliency of our country’s environment, coastlines and infrastructure,” said Great Lakes president and CEO Lasse Petterson in a statement. The 130-year old company is the country’s largest dredging service. 

New Nautical Coatings Inc., the parent company of Sea Hawk Paints, Blue Water Marine Paints, Flexdel/Aquagard Paints and Hawk Epoxy, received an honorable mention in the Paint and Coatings Industry magazine’s annual ranking of top North American coatings manufacturers. The ranking is based on 2019 coatings sales. “Being recognized by Paint and Coatings Industry magazine as a top North American coatings manufacturer is a tremendous accomplishment,” said CEO Erik Norrie in a statement.
