The Sea Tow Foundation is accepting grant applications to be a host for next year’s life jacket loaner program, which works with communities nationwide to provide PFDs and loaner stands.
Applications will be accepted through Feb. 1.
“Boating safety affects every community near the water,” program coordinator Kim Perry said in a statement. “By supporting local organizations through this grant, we’re not just providing life jackets — we’re building a culture of safety and responsibility that will save lives. We encourage and invite all members of the boating community to apply and participate in this program.”
The Sea Tow Foundation Life Jacket Loaner Program comprises more than 1,300 stations across the United States, including the U.S. Virgin Islands and American Samoa. Each station offers PFDs that can be borrowed free of charge in sizes ranging from infant to adult. The program has distributed more than 100,000 PFDs since 2008.
