The Norwegian maker of electric propulsion systems and SAIM, an Italian marine technology supplier team up in a partnership that involves the acquisition of a 6% stake in SeaDrive by SAIM.

SAIM, an Italian marine technology supplier, has acquired a 6% stake in Norwegian electric propulsion manufacturer SeaDrive, reinforcing a partnership that started three years ago.

“This strategic investment aligns seamlessly with our vision of promoting sustainable innovation in the maritime sector,” SAIM CEO Marco Donà said in a statement.

SeaDrive manufactures pod drives for myriad applications. Its management team will remain in place, and SAIM will have a seat on the board of directors.
