U.K.-based yacht builder Sunseeker announced that Cross Ocean Partners and Cheyne Capital are its new long-term owners, following the completion of an ownership transfer. Scott Millar was named incoming CEO.

Millar’s path to chief executive began through Teneo, when he was brought in to help develop Sunseeker’s five-year growth plan. According to a statement, Millar has more than 27 years of experience in business transformation, having served as CEO and chief transformation officer across several international industries.

Millar succeeds Steve Timms, who led Sunseeker as interim CEO through the ownership transition. Timms said the board wanted someone who genuinely cares about the brand — and in the statement he called Millar the “perfect choice,” noting that Millar’s team at Teneo had authored the growth plan now guiding the company.

Alongside Millar, Sunseeker announced four executives to broaden its leadership bench:

  • Andy Gawthorpe, chief commercial officer
  • Ian Morgan, chief strategy officer
  • James Grove, chief information officer
  • Adrian Mardell, non-executive chairman

Sunseeker said an enterprise transformation is underway across commercial, product and operations, and it plans to unveil a rebrand along with new product concepts at the Cannes Yachting Festival later this year.
