The Coast Guard Foundation announced that its 2023 scholarship season kicks off Feb. 1. The program each year awards more than $500,000 to high school seniors and college-aged children of active duty, active duty reserve and retired Coast Guard members.

The foundation said in a statement that it has awarded more than $6.8 million in scholarships, enabling recipients to build strong futures through a college education or technical school training.

“In a typical year, we award more than $500,000 in scholarships to deserving Coast Guard kids,” foundation president Susan Ludwig said in the statement. “We look forward to continuing this level of support in 2023 as more young people embark on this important life goal.”

Students can apply for scholarships until March 15, and awards range from $2,000 to $5,000. Click here for eligibility requirements and application instructions.
