GOST has issued an urgent update for its legacy customer base that to continue service, their tracking hardware must be upgraded to the next-generation Inmarsat Data Pro Series tracking antennas.

“The Inmarsat satellite network supports thousands of companies including GOST and government entities,” Brian Kane, chief technology officer, said in a statement. “Anticipating this change, we have been working over the past year to encourage our customers to upgrade to our next-generation IDP antennas for a discounted price to ensure continued service.”

The company’s satellite tracking systems purchased since October 2020 include the IDP technology, which GOST touts as the most reliable way to track vessels from anywhere in the world.

The IDP Series command-and-control interface is managed by the GOST Specter tracking website, which offers user-friendly mobile and desktop access. The interface retains a 90-day tracking history and text/email alerts and is capable of monitoring multiple vessels for fleet management.

In addition, the antennas incorporate an accelerometer, which allows users to set a reporting interval when the boat is moving over a certain speed, even if the geofence system is disarmed.
