Mastry Engine Center, which is based in St. Petersburg, Fla., will host an American Boat and Yacht Council diesel engine certification course July 31-Aug. 2.
Course instructor Curt Ainsworth will cover diesel engine theory of operation, troubleshooting and marine-specific installation requirements.
Students with engine manufacturer training will benefit by learning key ABYC standards. A passing score on the 185-question exam will provide 32 CEUs and nationally accredited ABYC certification. Training will be in Mastry’s classroom facility that has a built-in mechanical shop.
Being ABYC certified denotes a degree of technical expertise that’s recognized throughout the marine industry. The credentials reflect achievement, demonstrate commitment to the profession and improve career opportunities.
“Marine engines evolve at a staggering pace,” said Kevin Carlan, president of Mastry Engine Center, in a statement. “We’ve always placed a high emphasis on technical training are pleased to be able to again support ABYC in this way.” Mastry Engine Center, which is a Yanmar company, regularly hosts ABYC events.
