The Michigan Boating Industries Association announced the election of four new directors and named the officers who will serve in 2023.

Douglas Bergmann, of Bergmann Marine in Charlevoix, was elected as northern regional director, and Elizabeth Carney, of Grand Bay Marine in Traverse City, was elected at-large director. Amy Krueger Malow, of Jefferson Beach Yacht Sales in St. Clair Shores, and Warren Wolf, of Wolf’s Marine in Benton Harbor, were re-elected as statewide directors. All will serve three-year terms.

MBIA also appointed three officers to serve in 2023. Tom Den Herder, of Yacht Basin Marina in Holland, will take the helm as chairman; Amy Crouchman, of Walstrom Marine in Harbor Springs, will serve as vice chair; and Pete Beauregard Jr., of Colony Marine in St. Clair Shores, takes the secretary/treasurer post.

The organization also recognized four directors who will continue to serve terms in 2023: Chris Anderson, of Anderson’s Boat Sales in Waterford Township; Chris Lisowicz, of North Shore Marina in Spring Lake; Rob Davis, of Club Royale in Waterford; and Torre Miller, of Diesel Fuel Doctor in Lansing.

Let’s Go Fishing in 2023

“Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing!” kicks off its 27th year with two new events in early 2023.

First up is an Offshore Fishing class Feb. 5, aboard the Reward with Capt. Wayne Conn out of Miami Beach Marina. Anglers will learn fishing skills while targeting sailfish and tuna, as well bottom fishing.

The focus turns to fresh water March 4 at Bass Pro Shops in Dania Beach, Fla. Capt. Brian Leibowitz will combine classroom instruction, conservation information, and hands-on fishing activities in a guided experience for bass and other species. The all-release fishing will take place at a private lake known for peacock bass. Registration is limited to 25 participants.
