Dealers can get great website content and marketing tools at no cost from Discover Boating’s latest online resource center. It offers a variety of materials that dealers can use to engage next-generation boaters and newcomers while elevating the customer-service experience.
B2B.DiscoverBoating.com is home to a variety of educational resources, tools, content and campaign assets that can be shared on dealer channels. Digital is a way of life for consumers. It’s no more obvious than with Gen X and millennials, the very demographics that hold the marine industry’s future. Studies document that short videos (1 to 2 minutes) on interesting action subjects garner the most viewers. Boating is action.
Why take advantage of Discover Boating’s resource center?
• Marketing materials are readily available at no cost to dealers.
• Being part of the industry’s consumer marketing campaign amplifies the industry’s collective voice to attract new boaters and help grow boating.
• Interactive tools such as the Dealer Finder, Boat Loan Calculator and Boat Finder are popular among consumers and help enhance the boat buying experience.
• The upbeat “See You Out Here” campaign video assets can be used to connect with next generation customers.
• Up-to-date research and webinars continually provide education aimed at helping dealers grow their retail businesses.
These are some of the reasons Discover Boating has been the industry’s top outreach program since 2008. Since its inception, more than $110 million has been spent creating materials to send out boating’s messages aimed at stimulating retail sales. The program is now managed by the National Marine Manufacturers Association and the Marine Retailers Association of the Americas.
Another LLGF Program Success
Women anglers traveled from as far away as New Mexico to tackle offshore fishing skills at the non-profit “Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing!” University, held April 14-16 in South Florida.
Under the leadership of founder Betty Bauman, the “no yelling school of fishing” offered classroom presentations, networking, skills practice and optional charter fishing.
On Saturday, Capt. Jeanne Towne and Capt. Lee Lavery presented Fishing Basics and Offshore Fishing Techniques. Bauman presented information on conservation and fish-release protocol.
Hands-on skills included tying knots, ballyhoo and bait rigging, gaffing skills (using grapefruits) and net casting. On Sunday, it was offshore charter fishing, followed by a filet demonstration. With the kingfish run on, the women boated fish up to 35½ inches.
“Even facing challenges from an unprecedented April storm, we were able to continue with the Saturday seminar at a Davie, Fla., location and provide offshore fishing trips with calm seas on Sunday,” Bauman said. “We were fortunate to have our speakers attend while they were dealing with flooding issues at their own homes.”
