British powercat builder Archipelago Yachts has named Oaksmith Yachts of Seattle as its first U.S. dealership. The first vessel the dealership will import is the Archipelago 63.

Archipelago builds its catamarans from aluminum. Each has a parallel hybrid propulsion system that runs on methanol reformers and hydrogen fuel cells. The manufacturer says the boat cruises at 10 knots on the hybrid system and can reach a top speed of 22 knots with a direct-injected methanol engine.

“Oaksmith Yachts has a real enthusiasm for the brand and prides itself on sustainability, which is a key value for Archipelago,” Dr. Stephen Weatherley, founder of Archipelago Yachts, said in a statement. “I look forward to welcoming a new wealth of client relationships and beginning our new journey in the Pacific Northwest.”

Oaksmith Yachts founder Ben Oaksmith said the new partnership offers clients, “An incredible balance of capability, luxury, comfort, safety and innovation within a diverse range of catamarans.”

The Archipelago range of boats is designed by Chartwell Marine and includes four models ranging from 40 to 63 feet.
