Brunswick Corp. subsidiaries Freedom Boat Club and Seachoice donated a pontoon boat and 300 life jackets to Shake-A-Leg Miami, which provides on-water programs for students, youth, adults, veterans, groups and families, with or without disabilities.

Kevin Seelig, Freedom Boat Club of Northeast Florida co-owner, donated a 2021 Sweetwater 2286 tri-toon powered by a 150-hp Mercury 4-stroke. He has been connected with Shake-A-Leg Miami since he was 10, starting out as a camper, then becoming a volunteer and an employee.

“When I first participated in my early years as a camper, my mom could only afford two weeks of camp, but I loved it so much that SALM sponsored me for the remainder of the summer,” Seelig said in a statement. “It was my first experience on the water and one that stays with me to this day.”

Seachoice donated more than $25,000 worth of equipment, including the 300 life jackets, boat cleaning supplies and more.

“When we learned about the opportunity to support Shake-A-Leg’s efforts and help keep their campers safe on the water with brand-new life jackets, we knew it was an immediate ‘yes’ for Seachoice to participate,” Mike Conners, president at Land N Sea, said in the statement. “We are inspired by Shake-A-Leg’s mission to expose people of all abilities and backgrounds to the water.”

The donations are part of Brunswick’s All Blue Planet initiative, which focuses on inspiring communities to pursue the restorative power of water.
