The International Council of Marine Industry Associations announced that the China Boat Industry & Trade Association joined as a sustaining member, expanding representation from one of the world’s largest, emerging boating markets. The association operates under the China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry and includes companies involved in vessel research, manufacturing, maintenance, sales and related services.
“As an arm of CANSI, CBITA plays a vital role in ensuring the inclusion of China’s leisure marine industry in the country’s national maritime agenda,” ICOMIA CEO Joe Lynch said in a statement. “ICOMIA has been honored to participate in their annual industry forums and engage with their stakeholders. I warmly welcome CBITA on behalf of all ICOMIA members.”
CBITA focuses on sector planning, standards development, collaboration and training to support structured growth in China’s boating industry. The organization also has worked with national ministries to support yacht investment, equipment manufacturing and broader industry development initiatives tied to China’s maritime strategy.
The group also facilitates collaboration among urban planners, domestic stakeholders and international experts on such topics as the yacht economy, waterfront development and marine infrastructure. CBITA has contributed to standards development aligned with ISO small-craft regulations and other international maritime requirements.
