Fort Myers Marina Reopens Four Years After Ian

Legacy Harbour Marina was badly damaged in one of the most powerful hurricanes ever to hit southwest Florida.

Legacy Harbour Marina, on the Caloosahatchee River in Fort Myers, Fla., has reopened after a major revitalization following Hurricane Ian, which struck southwest Florida in September 2022. The $15 million redevelopment includes the marina, harbormaster building and on-site amenities.

The property was redeveloped under the direction of AIRN Management, in partnership with Bellingham Marine, following significant damage from one of the most powerful storms to hit that part of the state. Construction began in early 2025.

“This marina has long served as a home port for boaters traveling Florida’s west coast,” Rick Budd, CEO of AIRN Management, said in a press release. “The reopening represents a significant reinvestment in Fort Myers’ waterfront and a long-term commitment to the local boating community.”

The marina has 131 slips for boats from 40 to 150 feet, new dock systems, utility upgrades and enhanced infrastructure. Legacy Harbour Marina is owned by AIRN Management and operated under lease with the city of Fort Myers.
