PHOTO COURTESY IYBAThe International Yacht Brokers Association announced its board of directors and honored individual award winners Jan. 18 during its annual dinner at Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach.
Board members who were re-elected for 2024 include Bob Saxon of Bob Saxon Consultancy, Chuck Cashman of MarineMax, and Jeff Stanley of SYS Yacht Sales. New members include Carmine Galati Jr. of Galati Yacht Sales and Cole Watkins of Allied Marine.
The board also includes continuing members Grant Henderson, Burgess; Trevor Carroll, Fraser Yachts; James Corts, MarineMax; Andy Miles, Miles Yacht Group; Michael Scalisi, HMY Yachts; and Gary Smith, SYS Yacht Sales.
“Our board members help to lift our industry in a wide variety of ways, from lobbying for legislation in Washington, D.C., and Tallahassee to continually enhancing the Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show, which IYBA co-owns; to developing a suite of wholly industry-owned sales management tools; to providing educational seminars in Florida and Europe; and much more.”
IYBA also handed out its 2023 awards during the dinner:
• Charter Professional of the Year: Janina Martinsen, Camper & Nicholsons
• Young Professional of the Year: Cole Watkins, Allied Marine
• Sailboat Broker of the Year: Staley Weidman, The Catamaran Co.
• Powerboat Broker of the Year: Frank Grzeszczak Sr., FGI
• Administrator of the Year: Nicole Drost, Allied Marine
• IYBA Lifetime Achievement Award: Bob Saxon, Bob Saxon Consultancy
Saxon was recognized for his more than 40 years in the industry, which includes being appointed IYBA president for six consecutive terms and serving as the association’s executive director.
