Lewis Marine Supply recently announced a fundraising effort to benefit Florida-based Captains for Clean Water. The project involves the restoration of a 1975, 18-foot SeaCraft center console, which will be completed by customers, vendors and the company’s technical staff before being raffled off later this year at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
“We’re excited to begin working on the SeaCraft Project,” Louis Diaz, Lewis Marine Supply wholesale division vice president, said in a statement.
The restored boat will tour several Boat Owners Warehouse locations in Florida where consumers can purchase raffle tickets and “see firsthand what can be accomplished with a little time and elbow grease when using the right products and systems recommended by the professionals at Lewis Marine and its pro customers,” Diaz said. “They’ll also learn about South Florida’s fragile aquatic ecosystem and an organization that’s dedicated to preserving it.”
Captains for Clean Water works to reverse decades of water mismanagement and protect it for future generations by focusing on Everglades restoration, water advocacy and the dangers of nutrient pollution.
