Taiwanese yacht manufacturer Ocean Alexander has named industry veteran Niel Steenkamp commercial sales director.
Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, Steenkamp grew up on the water and joined the South African Navy where he was a submariner. After college, he sailed throughout the world.
“He has found an amazing career in the industry not only serving his country in the Navy but later as a yacht captain, broker and ambassador to his clients,” Dan Mundy, head of global operations at Ocean Alexander, said in a statement. “Niel embodies amazing talent in communication, organization, excellence and trust, which are core competencies at Ocean Alexander.”
Ocean Alexander has been building yachts for more than 45 years and offers vessels ranging from 89 feet to 131 feet with 12 models in four series.
Mundy continued in the statement: “Four more than four decades now, Ocean Alexander has set themselves as a leader in the luxury yacht industry by delivering outstanding customer service every step of the way by offering unmatched sales consultation through commissioning and maintenance services. This passion is embraced by Niel, making him a perfect addition.”
