Stabilizer manufacturer Smartgyro named Carlo Galli Tognota chief executive officer. He spent the last 11 years at Twin Disc, where he oversaw a range of products for power transmission, vessel management and propulsion. He has also worked at Cantieri di Baia, Sealine Italia and Cummins.

“This latest announcement heralds a transformative opportunity for the company to optimize its internal processes and fortify its robust leadership footprint in its native Italy,” Marcel Borsboom, director of general on-board systems group within the Yanmar Recreational Marine Business Unit, said in a statement.

Added Galli Tognota: “My diverse background in technical sales and managerial roles has equipped me with a deep understanding of the marine sector, making me well-prepared for this challenges and opportunities ahead.”
