Soundings Trade Only will host a Women in the Industry Summit, a Marine Industry Leadership Panel and the presentation of its Most Innovative Marine Company awards Oct. 2 at the Marriott Water Street in Tampa, Fla.
The summit starts at noon, and the panel, awards and reception begin at 4:30. Tickets can be purchased when registering for the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference, which runs Oct. 3-5 at the Tampa Convention Center.
“We look forward to offering the marine industry an exciting kickoff to IBEX week,” Michele J. Goldsmith, vice president and general manager of the Soundings Trade Only Group, said in a statement. “The Women in the Industry Summit will be the first large-scale, in-person interactive workshop geared toward women working in the marine industry. All genders are welcome to attend.
“Key leaders from the industry will offer powerful insights during the leadership panel, and immediately following we will honor the most innovative companies in our marine community,” Goldsmith added. “Finally, we will all have an opportunity to share what we have learned and celebrate at a reception outside near the water.”
The Women in the Industry Summit includes a luncheon and three-hour workshop focused on the language of leadership and negotiation. The Marine Industry Leadership Panel, moderated by Alicia M. Rodriquez, will feature executives from myriad boating companies.
Rodriguez is a Georgetown University leadership coach and president of Sophia Associates, an international leadership development practice. She is a best-selling author and resides in Algarve, Portugal.
