Vision Marine Technologies this week announced the appointment of Dr. Philippe Couillard as an independent director to its board, with immediate effect. Quebec’s 31st premier, from 2014 to 2018, Couillard has a wealth of experience in the electrification of transport.
“We look forward to Dr. Couillard’s contributions to Vision Marine and his extraordinary blend of business experience and battery expertise,” Vision CEO Alex Mongeon said in a statement. “His political acumen positions him as an invaluable asset in our mission to revolutionize the boating industry with electric power.”
According to the statement, Couillard will provide insight and strategic advice, particularly in areas that align with his expertise in business, public policy and international relations.
“My appreciation of Vision Marine’s potential for growth brought me to this role, and I look forward to sharing my desire to contribute to value creation with other directors and management,” Couillard said in the statement.
