Outside Sales Representative

Duties

Outside Sales Representatives are responsible for increasing sales by developing and maintaining relationships with customers and clients. Duties may include identifying prospective customers, following up on potential sales leads, and maintaining relationships with existing customers. Outside Sales Representatives may also recommend marketing strategies designed for a target market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet with buyers from marine businesses, and shipyards, throughout San Francisco Bay / Delta Area.
  • Identify new customers and service existing customers with professional ethic and attitude.
  • Work with purchasing to make sure we are providing the correct selection of products.
  • Maintain relationships with our customers while on the road.

Qualifications

  • An understanding of the marine industry in California.
  • Strong communication and sales skills
  • Professional appearance and client-focused mindset
  • Tech-friendly and comfortable using PC based operating system.
  • Spanish speaking is a BIG PLUS due to our diverse clientele

Inside Salesperson

Duties

Sells products or services to either consumers or other businesses. Their main duties include locating new sales, negotiating sales terms, and providing product descriptions.

Description

  • Introduce and sell in wholesale (bulk) and dropship a wide range of brand name Marine products to various types of B2B customers (retail, online retailer, VARS, and independent channels)
  • Calling retail buyers and cultivate relationships with buyers
  • Entering and processing daily transactions and files
  • Assisting in business development activities
  • Identify the market, and products
  • Spanish speaking is a BIG PLUS due to our diverse clientele

Desired skills / Experience

  • Somewhat proficient with Microsoft Excel functions, formulas, and features
  • Strong skills in building business and cultivating strong relationships over phone, and via emails with customers
  • Experience following up with and managing large volume of customers
  • Proven success, experience, and relationships selling to retail stores and online retailers closing deals and driving selling through of products
  • Experience accurately inputting and managing transactions
  • Experience and knowledge of retail and online retail market
  • Skilled at staying on top follow-ups and managing tasks

Qualifications

  • Interest or passion for boating products
  • Prior sales experience of retail, online retail, wholesale
  • Established existing relationships with marine industry retailers, buyers, accounts
  • Skilled at calling, selling, emailing, and developing business with buyers over the phone, and via email.
  • Ability to think ‘outside of the box’ and come up with solutions
  • Must be able to work in a fast pace and juggle multiple tasks at once.
  • Strong positive communication and organization skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Excel. Fast with PC computers

Purchasing Agent

Duties

Sources goods and services for a company. Duties: identifying and evaluating suppliers, managing procurement transactions, and keeping accurate pricing records.

  • Evaluate prior sales to establish future fulfillment needs
  • Research suppliers and negotiate contracts for product fulfillment processing
  • Place orders and ensure inventory is properly distributed
  • Sourcing and building relations with new suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors and suppliers
  • Monitor inventory performance and recommend markdowns or replenishment strategies
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and vendor communications

JOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of buying, purchasing, merchandising, or retail procurement experience preferred
  • Analytical Skills: You will be working with multiple vendors to determine the best deals for the company.
  • Decision-Making Skills: You will need to use the information you have gathered to make decisions on behalf of the company.
