Maciej Rynkiewicz from ABYC discusses the 10 of the most frequently asked questions related to lithium-ion batteries, and the requirements associated with installing them on boats.

The recently released E-13 Standard from the American Boat & Yacht Council could go a long way toward helping boatbuilders, insurers and other industry players feel more comfortable about vessels that incorporate this technology.

ABYC’s S-32 Standard, Warnings and Safety Signs for Boats, aims to warn about boating accidents before they occur

Five participating service technicians will receive a $100 Visa gift card, a prize pack and will be named on ABYC’s website and social media.

“Staying Current with Electrification,” the fourth installment in their Risk Mitigation Series, is scheduled for May 3.

The annual event, now in its second year, brings awareness and recognition to service professionals and the work they perform.

Standards are a full-time mission for the ABYC that goes beyond simply putting out a new supplement every July. As an organization built on a tradition of common-sense and real-world experiences, the ABYC works on standards development year-round with its Project Technical Committees.

The new personnel will support education, membership, marketing and finance initiatives.

The group also handed out awards at its annual meeting, which serves as the starter for Standards Week.
